Introduction
CUHK Medical Clinic@Kitchee is an integrated clinic that provides professional sports medicine support for professional athletes or general sports enthusiasts with "Sports Medicine" concept. Clinic services include treatment of sports-related injuries, rehabilitation after sports injuries or surgery, injury prevention, pre competition medical assessment, and sports performance enhancement etc. The Clinic brings together professional consultations by professional orthopaedic specialist, physiotherapists and dietitians (service will be launched by phase), with the latest advanced professional equipment, to provide a one-stop sports medicine support service for professional athletes and sports enthusiasts. The clinic is also recognised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) as part of the 10 AFC Medical Centres / Clinics of Excellence in the world.
The concept of AFC Medical Centre of Excellence was launched in 2018, with the aim to reward and recognise medical centres in Asia, which demonstrate leadership in clinical, research and education expertise, injury-prevention measures as well as experience in managing injuries in top-level football.
Strength and Explosive Power Testing Training
- For strength and explosive power testing and training, provides independent control on the resistance, speed of concentric and eccentric muscle contraction during movements, as well as instant data analysis
- The training is also used by Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, Borussia Dortmund Football Club, Aston Villa Football Club and Everton Football Club
High-speed Treadmill
- A high-speed treadmill for running and sprint testing and training, capable of increasing speeds up to 40 km/h. With built-in sensors provide strength and pace data analysis
- The machine is also used by FC Barcelona and many sports science studies
Isokinetic machine
- An isokinetic dynamometer for testing and training muscle strength at preset speeds, providing objective data analysis of concentric and eccentric muscle contractions
- The machine is also used in many sports medicine studies
